I-44 Speedway ASA Racing News
October 12, 2010
What an awesome Saturday night! A lot of spectators and racers to put on a show for them.
Crispin’s hot laps went well it looks like the changes the crew chief made are working; the car laid down on the track well and the power was there. Te car still does not have the horsepower some of the other cars have, but the driver makes up for that. We will work on that over the lay off time. Did not have help this time Alan Ivey from Auto Body Supply in Arkansas came to help, but we needed one more. A lot to do, but short on time. Made changes to the car for the heat race in which we started first and finished there. Still fighting the car it is doing weird things that is hard to work with right now. Will check it out over the lay off.
Starting eighth in the 50 lap feature. The car started out good after the changes got up to fourth, but then got very loose. Crispin spun the car several times because the back end would come around on him. It made it hard to pass anyone in fear of it coming around during the pass. Crispin would have to slow down to get it done, losing valuable time. Although the car was loose, Crispin controlled the spin very well keeping the car in the race. Crispin finished eighth out of a big field, but was very disappointed and so were we our car was better than that and so was the driver.
I-44 speedway had a nice layout of food for the drivers and had their year end awards in which Crispin finished 7th in points for the year.
Sad to say the racing year is over for now. Will hit the shop tearing down the car for next year. Hopefully finding out what the problem is. Have some ideas, but will tear it down to find all of them.
A lot of people to thank for Crispin’s racing year: Al’s gas, Scott’s Rental, Auto Body Supply of Arkansas, Wiley-Royal Purple, Tynis Construction, Allen Sign,Goodyear Tire, Ron’s Towing, Tommy Ester, Jesse Prather GT2 motor, Phil’s Tire Service, Shawn & Pat for my aim help and Casey’s Road & Race.
All of these sponsors have helped us throughout the year with the GT2 and the late model.
Thank you to the crew, including Crispin’s family: aunt’s, uncle, sister, mother, father and grandparents and the friends that helped. Our racing can not be done without all of these people and there is a lot behind the scenes that are not at the track.
Thank you to all of the fans in the GT2 car and the late model. All of you have followed Crispin on his web site and at the tracks when you could be there. Hope to see all of you again next year and watch Crispin grow, he is very talented.
