ASA Racing 2010
August 3, 2010
Crispin’s crew chief bought a Late Model Stock Car to try racing circle track. Our first outing was July 21, 2010. For it being our first time in a late model Crispin did not do bad we just need to learn how to set the car up. Crispin looked like he had done this for a long time. The next race is July 24, 2010. I 44 Speedway in Lebanon races every Saturday. Crispin said he has a whole new respect for the NASCAR guys this Late Model racing is not easy. Crispin made it to 5th in the feature but spun twice loosing position ending up 6th.
Could not wait to get back on the track and try this circle track racing again.
Car was good in the hot laps but went away in the feature. Crispin was fast in the heats. In the 30 lap feature the car started to bottom out in which later we found out it had a broken part. Overall Crispin finished 7th with a broken spring. Race was stopped because of a down pour after 20 laps. The Crew Chief will fix the car and prepare for next Saturday.
It has been real hard trying to find the right set up for this Late Model Racing. Quite different than Road Racing. Thought we had the right set up this time but we were scratching our head for ideas. Practice was good but for some reason we went backwards through out the night. Crispin started outside pole but at lap 25 two cars in front of him got loose and Crispin could not get out of their way. Crispin ended up with front end damage with three laps to go putting us in 8th place. Tempers were flying after the Late Model feature for something that happened after we left the track. We still had a good time and love circle track racing. It was so much fun seeing all the fans coming back to our pits looking to meet the drivers and get autographs from everyone.
In closing I have to thank our sponsors Al’s Gas, Royal Purple, Tynis Construction and Scott’s Rental. At home there are of people that help with things concerning the car I would like to thank them also. Crispin’s family has really come in the picture helping with whatever they are asked of them a big thanks out to them. Behind the scenes there is a lot of preparing that is done and it takes everyone’s help to get all the jobs done.
THANKS TO ALL THE FANS!!
Hopefully Crispin will build all of you to a bigger number and excite you as much as we are doing this circle track racing.
HOPE TO SEE EVERYONE NEXT SATURDAY AT I 44 SPEEDWAY LEBANON
